Hi there! We're Luke and Cat, and we're so happy you're here. We hope you'll stay a while! We’re a husband and wife wedding photographer team based in Houston, Texas. Ranchers-turned-photographers, our world looks like this: a Craftsman-style farmhouse; our newborn, Knox, in our arms; coffee in the kitchen; Edison lights on the back porch; and a pair of English bulldogs at the foot of our bed. Our Favorite Venues: 7F Lodge!

Feb 22, 2013 / Weddings
To our Aggie friends... this one's for you! Any chance we get to go to College Station, we take it. It's especially fun when we get to go to College Station to shoot a wedding! One of our favorite venues in that area is 7F Lodge!

Houstonians take notice too... 7F is close enough for you too! Our last wedding at 7F Lodge was a Houston-based couple!
Here's 3 things we love about 7F Lodge!
1) That chapel!
I would say this is the number one most recognizable aspect of 7F Lodge. They have an adorable open-air little white chapel that is the centerpiece of their wedding day ceremonies. Super small ceremonies can actually happen inside the chapel, but larger ones can use the chapel as the backdrop. The chapel is extra-spectacular at night when candles provide ambience, and it turns into a favorite photo spot for brides and grooms.
2. Follow The Winding Road
I'll admit it. When I first arrived at 7F Lodge, I didn't quite know where to go. There are paths and trails every which way. I wanted to tie a string to Luke to make sure I didn't get lost. But guess what... these paths and trails make for a very intimate day for brides and grooms. And it's one of the major things that makes 7F Lodge very unique.
3. The Chalkboard Signs
Somebody needs their own board dedicated to them on Pinterest... and it's the chalkboard artist at 7F. From "Love Saves Lives" to a simple "Amor" these signs are throughout the property and are that extra something special that transforms A place into THE place.
It's not just a wedding venue... the cabins are also available for a little getaway. Check out 7F Lodge!

Our Favorite Venues: The Prairie!

Feb 15, 2013 / Weddings
This venue is one of our favorites! Besides the fact that it used to be our friend Ramona's family homestead, this venue is the perfect place for a bride who is looking for something special for her wedding.

The Prairie is located in Round Top, Texas which makes all antiquers' ears perk up. It's down a long dirt road, and it's really a treasure.

So here's 3 things to love about The Prairie!
1) Somebody famous designed it.
Rachel Ashwell is the shabby-chic queen, and she's the creative genius behind this venue. In every building on the property, you can see her touch. From the antique chairs, hardwood floors, and the floral print linens, you can see her vision come to life. Shabby chic themed weddings are very popular right now. If you're thinking about having one, why not start out at the venue that's owned by the queen herself?
2) It's in a small town.
If you come to Round Top, Texas during antique week, it might not seem like a small town. But any other time, Round Top is a lazy little town that is a perfect getaway from the city. Don't worry about your guests getting stuck in traffic or turning down the wrong one-way street. It's dirt roads and cattle-guards in Round Top.
3) You can go eat at Royer's Round Top Cafe while you're there.
Ok.. this is kinda off topic but I had to mention it. When we go to Round Top, we brave the crowd (and yes, there's always a crowd there) and the family style seating so that we can eat at Royer's Round Top Cafe. Sitting with strangers is worth it when you get to eat great food and enjoy the one-of-a-kind atmosphere. The pie's great too. If you haven't been there... go... now...
And be sure to schedule a visit to The Prairie as well!

Happy 1-Year Anniversary :: Amber and Anthony!

Feb 12, 2013 / Weddings
Hard to believe it's been 1 year since these two lovebirds got married!

Happy First Anniversary to Amber and Anthony!

When looking back through your pictures... here's 3 memories that came to mind for us :)
1) Your intimate wedding ceremony. I (Cat) remember that I got so choked up when the preacher had you two say to one another, "I promise I will never divorce you." Just now when I wrote that, I teared up again.

2) The most magical sky that night at Agave Road.

3) Your epic exit... looking like movie stars!

Amber and Anthony... we are so happy for you two! Happy Anniversary... and here's wishing for many more years together!

P.S. Amber's mom: we miss you!
