Hi there! We're Luke and Cat, and we're so happy you're here. We hope you'll stay a while! We’re a husband and wife wedding photographer team based in Houston, Texas. Ranchers-turned-photographers, our world looks like this: a Craftsman-style farmhouse; our newborn, Knox, in our arms; coffee in the kitchen; Edison lights on the back porch; and a pair of English bulldogs at the foot of our bed. Meg and Kevin :: Olde Dobbin Station

Dec 19, 2012 / Weddings
We love getting to shoot at a new venue. Especially when it is somewhere as spectacular as the new Houston venue, Olde Dobbin Station.

Earier this year when Meg and Kevin told us about the place where they were going to say "I Do," I promptly googled this place and fell in love. Not to mention that as we were driving to the venue we realized it was right around the exact area where we picked up the cutest little bulldog ever, Wilma Neumayr, a few years ago. But that's another story. But a good story :)

Eventually the rings were tied to this old family bible that belonged to Meg's great grandfather. Love this.

Meg is just a classic beauty, all around. She carries herself with such poise and grace. To tell you the truth, anytime I'm around her I feel.... well... like a short, dumpy, less graceful.... hobbit. But, Meg is nice too. She is down to earth, and laid back, and the complete opposite of a diva. Soooo that makes her the type of person who I want to be around. :)

Can I just say, I just love a pregnant bridesmaid who is super excited! Meg and her sister are ready for the new baby!

Meg and Kevin chose to be married in one of the buildings at the venue that hadn't been repurposed yet. They saw the raw potential and hung the strands of lights and draped the ceiling. Since they were married after dark, this was a magnificent effect! They were married by candlelight and it was nothing less than magical.

It was reeeeeeally cold that night. We love this one of Kevin snuggling her up! :)

One of my favorite parts of the night was when Meg's father toasted the couple. He talked about how they had prayed for a young man like this for their daughter and how thankful they were that God had placed them in each others lives. He had a few funny stories to tell too, of course!

Meg and Kevin - your day was spectacular! We had a great time with you and your families and I feel so blessed that we have met you both.

Laura and John :: Agave Real Wedding Photographer

Dec 17, 2012 / Weddings

Agave Real... we love it!

We've photographed lots of weddings over at Agave Road, but this was our first wedding to shoot at Agave Real, their sister property. What a treat this day was! This venue is a stunning treasure with southwestern and hacienda decor, and Laura and John's fall wedding day couldn't have been any more perfect!

Laura's parents were so proud of their daughter on her wedding day!

A call to grandpa right after they said "I do!"

Since John and Laura were married right at sunset, all of their portraits were taken at a time when all of the Agave properties really shine.... after dark!

Laura is an interior designer, so she had a careful hand in making sure the reception decor reflected their personal style. I love the end result!

John and Laura - your day was perfect, and we are so excited to see where your married journey takes you!

Jana and Clint :: Camp Lucy Wedding Photographer

Dec 3, 2012 / Weddings
At the end of last week we were able to show you the first look into Jana and Clint's wedding at Camp Lucy in Dripping Springs, but that was Style Me Pretty's reveal! Of course, we're so excited to share Jana and Clint's perfect Texas chic wedding day and tell their story on our blog.

Whenever we first booked Jana and Clint's wedding, Jana had kinda told us a little about what she was planning. At the time, I sent a quick e-mail to both Jana and Clint and said, "Hey Jana do you Pinterest? I want to see your wedding boards to see what you've got going." Within 3 minutes, Clint had wrote me back and said, "Does Jana Pinterest? Does a Brahman cow have a hump? She is on there all day and night." (For my non-livestock background friends, Brahman cows DO have humps on top of their shoulders and it is their single most recognizable characteristic.) I laughed out loud. Clint and Jana were going to be our friends.

7 months after that initial post-booking e-mail conversation, we excitedly drove the winding private road to Dripping Springs' venue, Camp Lucy. What a treasure this place is! We were in for a real treat of a wedding - not just the spectacular flowers, or the festive mariachi, or the homemade salsa favors. What really made it special for us was the two lovebirds who were getting married!

At this wedding there was no detail that was forgotten. Jana spent many 'crafternoons' (her word) and you could see her creative touch all over this wedding.

Clint's a happy guy, isn't he? And why wouldn't he be, right? He is marrying his best friend!

Right around sunset we watched as Clint and Jana said their "I do's."

While Clint and Jana spent some time getting their portraits taken after the wedding, their guests were entertained by this amazing mariachi band... Clint's special request. Clint is from South Texas and he told us from the beginning that the mariachi band was a must for him!

See the small ferris wheel on this table? It's not just adorable decor - it's a tribute to Jana and Clint's engagement, which happened on a ferris wheel at the county fair. Chris Ledoux, anyone? Anyone get that but me?

Jana, you're beautiful!

Their reception was a junkers dream. As soon as I walked in and saw all these mismatched chairs, the long farmhouse tables, a million different vases, and mason jars... I was in heaven. And I'm not even a junker, really. But now I think I want to be.

Exquisite.

As the night drew to a close, there was no place more fitting for a sleepy little flowergirl than grandma's lap.

Jana and Clint, I can't begin to thank you enough for allowing US to be on this journey with you!
