Hi there! We're Luke and Cat, and we're so happy you're here. We hope you'll stay a while! We’re a husband and wife wedding photographer team based in Houston, Texas. Ranchers-turned-photographers, our world looks like this: a Craftsman-style farmhouse; our newborn, Knox, in our arms; coffee in the kitchen; Edison lights on the back porch; and a pair of English bulldogs at the foot of our bed. Jillian and Cole :: College Station Wedding Photographer

Oct 9, 2012 / Weddings, Film

Country chic at it's finest!

We had the pleasure of spending the day with a very special set of families to celebrate Jillian and Cole's marriage. We've been so excited about this wedding for almost a whole year. Jillian and her mom kept us updated while they planned this event, sharing with us colors, fabric swatches, and family history, and how it was going to be incorporated into the day.

The day arrived and it surely was beautiful. How about this church?

The ring bearer carried this very {very} old family bible down the aisle.

The garter had charms and special photos on it; each one meant something to Jillian.

And here she is... the beautiful bride! We had our film camera with us that day, and a roll of black and white film loaded. We only took a few pictures on film, and here is our favorite. Jillian, you are lovely!

A quiet moment with dad right before walking down the aisle.

The reception was full of amazing rustic and shabby chic details. Not a detail was left out!

Are they happy, or what?

Right around sunset, we went outside with the couple for a few more portraits. We couldn't resist snapping a photo of Jillian's lovely bouquet, wrapped in burlap and lace, with the setting sun behind her.

Jillian and Cole, you have blessed us so much by allowing us to be a part of your wedding day. We're so happy for the love you two share and the sure-to-be happily ever after that you two will live together. Best wishes for a long and happy life together!

Anna and Thomas on Film!

Aug 31, 2012 / Weddings, Film

When Anna, Thomas, Cat, and I stepped away from the hustle and bustle of the

wedding reception for a few portraits, I busted out the 1V for some film shots!

The more I see our images on film, the more that I want to shoot only on film! I just love the way it looks and I personally think that it has a much more "hand-crafted" look and feel to it. I love that it isn't instant and that is requires hands-on processing. Maybe it's just me!

Payton :: Our Film Adventure

Aug 27, 2012 / Our Life, Film

A few weeks back, Cat and I went on a little family vacation with her grandma, aunt, and cousin.

We have taken so many pictures of Payton (Cat's cousin) over the years, and when Jan (Cat's aunt) put the plans together for a family trip to the beach, we knew that we would be able to get some more images of Payton, but this time they would be on film!

(Holy run-on sentence! Sorry, Internet!)

One evening we walked around the resort and played Port Aransas' Next Top Model. Jan was Tyra, Payton was the model, Cat was Mr. Jay, and I was Nigel. Of course we took some digital shots just to make sure that we were on the same page with the film camera, and we finally have the film scans back. Here are a few of our favs!
