Hi there! We're Luke and Cat, and we're so happy you're here. We hope you'll stay a while! We’re a husband and wife wedding photographer team based in Houston, Texas. Ranchers-turned-photographers, our world looks like this: a Craftsman-style farmhouse; our newborn, Knox, in our arms; coffee in the kitchen; Edison lights on the back porch; and a pair of English bulldogs at the foot of our bed. Fonts for Weddings

Aug 27, 2013 / Weddings
As nerdy as this may sound, typography is a passion of mine. I love fonts and have way too many. It's probably because of my pre-photography career as a graphic designer. I'm signed up for the e-mail list for so many different font foundries, so while some women might anxiously be waiting for sale e-mails from J. Crew or Banana Republic, I'm the one waiting for new font releases.

I wanted to offer some ideas for some font combinations for those DIY types who might want to make signage or other projects for their weddings!

This combo of Minion and Bombshell would be great on an invitation. Minion is a classic serif font that I especially love if styled in small caps. Bombshell is one of my favorite fonts ever because it looks hand-drawn.

The table card features another one of my favorite serif fonts, Warnock, paired with the frilly Affair. Affair is an incredibly diverse font with lots of fun and feminine qualities!

I'm in love with the idea of song request cards. Not only can they look great on the table but your guests can get involved. For this card I chose fonts with a little more personality. Franklin Gothic is one of my go-to sans serif fonts because I think it has spunk. For the script font, I haven't found a 'cheeky' fontI like quite as much as Wisdom Script. It's easy to read but not boring!
If you want to begin your own font-journey, it's easy to get started and find your favorites at MyFonts.com.

Vows + A GIVEAWAY!

Aug 23, 2013 / Weddings
I think one of the most magical parts of the wedding day is when the bride and groom are standing facing one another, holding hands, and reciting their wedding vows. As I think about it, maybe this is my favorite part of the day. I have always thought it was when the doors open and the groom sees the bride, but just writing about the vows, and thinking of what they mean to me in my own marriage, makes me think that *this* part is my favorite.

It's Friday and we're feeling generous! There's a giveaway today! We're giving away this beautiful calligraphy gold-foil print from the Southern Weddings Shop, featuring those amazing vows!

Here's a closer view of the print itself!

Bridesmaid Printables

Aug 22, 2013 / Weddings
Things have progressed quite a bit since I was asking "Will You Be My Bridesmaid" to my best friends. I think I might have sent them a text. Really fancy.

Now there are plenty of ideas to make it more special for your leading ladies! I was browsing around on the internet the other day looking at calligraphy and saw these adorable free bridesmaid printables on Something Pretty. By the way, how beautiful is this website?

Of course, I'm most partial to the mint card, but the peach and grey are equally good looking as well. :)
