College Station Wedding: Valerie and Jeff

Jul 30, 2013 / Weddings
Valerie and Jeff were married a few weeks ago in an adorable little white church, the same little white church where Valerie's parents and grandparents were married years ago. It's pretty surreal to think that Valerie and Jeff walked the same aisle that years before, Valerie's mom and dad had walked.

I can't even begin to try to explain to you what an perfect example of true love that Valerie and Jeff are. Their wedding day was just as it should be: every moment and every detail was about the love that they share together, and the friends and families that have brought them to this point. From Valerie's first look with her dad, a special toast from a best man overseas, a father-daughter dance that would make even the toughest person get a tear in their eye, and finally, moonlit portraits with the 'super-moon' of this summer... it was just all magical.

Also, congratulations to the winner of yesterday's Pressed Cotton blog giveaway, Laura Fisher!

Katie and Jed :: Panama City Beach Wedding Photographer

Jul 18, 2013 / Weddings
What an awesome day this was! We were so excited to meet up in Panama City Beach, Florida with Katie, Jed, and their closest friends and family for their destination wedding.

Lessons I learned from this trip. First, it is NO piece from here to Panama City Beach. I almost feel a little sheepish calling us 'Panama City Beach Destination Wedding Photographers' because it wasn't even that far of a drive! The trip was a beautiful and easy drive and we had a wonderful time. Second, while parts of Florida ARE close, sadly, Disneyworld is not. But that's an excuse for another Florida trip!

Of course, what made the trip even more fun was the awesome people that we knew were going to be there once we arrived. Katie and Jed have trusted us completely and put their full confidence in us through this entire experience. From their ranch engagement session in Weatherford, Texas, all the way to the wedding day on the white sand in Florida, I'm glad we've 'traveled' these roads.

I am so happy for these two and the happily ever after that I'm sure is going to be the rest of their life!

Katie hit the jackpot with these friends. Luke and I commented as we were looking through all the pictures that this group was all smiles, all day long.

What a happy guy!

This ring shot is a tribute to Katie and Jed's cattle ranch, Aces Wild Ranch. The -W on Jed's ring is their brand.

An excited last minute hug before we all walked down to the beach.

As things got going for the ceremony, I thought it was so fun to watch all the people on the beach. They turned their chairs around to make sure they had a good view.

As we walked along the beach with the new Mr. and Mrs., I thought to myself, "Why sure, I would LOVE some sun flare photos on the beach."

Katie stopped and drew these hearts. So cute!

After the ceremony we all headed back up to the big house (just a short walk from the beach) for dinner and dancing. As you can tell, everyone was super happy!

Katie and Jed had a grand sparkler exit, but by far the most exciting part of the end of the night was when they came back in and jumped in the pool!

Katie and Jed, thank you for letting us come to Florida for you guys! You have been nothing short of amazing to get to know. I want to do it all over again!

Friends and family, take a moment to sign Katie and Jed's guestbook and view their entire gallery.

Ashlena and Weston :: Punta Cana Wedding Photographer

Jul 12, 2013 / Weddings
It's hard to believe that our trip to Punta Cana to photograph Ashlena and Weston's wedding has already came and gone. I have so many incredible memories from our trip to the Dominican Republic; looking through all of these photos and seeing all of the happy faces just makes me wish we could go back and do it all over again.

Believe it or not, the first time we met Ashlena and Weston was at the airport about 5 AM as we all boarded the plane from Houston to Miami. We weren't expecting to be on the same flight as we had made our own travel arrangements. The 6 AM flight must have been one of the first ones out that day, because at the American Airlines check in kiosks at 4:30 AM, there was a line waiting for the machines and the counter to open. I looked around at the other people waiting as I played on my phone and tried to keep my eyes open. After we finally got checked in, we walked to the gate and sat down to wait for our flight.

I was about dozed off when Luke elbowed me and said, "I think those people are Weston's parents." Huh? Apparently Mr. Eavesdropper Luke thought he had overheard these nearby people (who happened to be in line behind us at the kiosk earlier) say something about Weston. A few minutes later, we'd made the connection and realized that almost the entire wedding party was on our flight. The last people to arrive were the bride and groom themselves, Ashlena and Weston.

The first thing I said to Luke is, "Wow, these are beautiful people." I mean, I knew Ashlena and Weston were a good looking couple because I was their Facebook friend, but meeting them in real life and seeing how kindly they hugged their friends when they saw them that morning, how they immediately treated Luke and I like we were family, and how they sat on the ground playing with and entertaining the little flower girl... these are special people.

After several days of being treated like part of the family, the wedding day rolled around. We all watched the weather all day... wouldn't you know, it was pouring in Punta Cana. Nonetheless, this was a day worth celebrating: the day that Weston and Ashlena were getting married!

Each room in the Hard Rock resort has a different song lyric on the mirror behind the headboard.

What a gorgeous bride!

Despite the rain showers, there was a break in the weather and Ashlena did a first-look with her dad. Aaron got a little teary-eyed seeing his beautiful daughter in her wedding gown.

That's Luke driving the golf cart that is keeping everyone dry!

The rain stopped for a moment, and the ceremony was upon us.

Weston's dad officiated the ceremony... how cool is that?!

Favorite!

After dark, we all headed over to the reception... where the party got started!

Ashlena and Weston... where can we even begin? Thank you so much for inviting us on this spectacular adventure with your incredible friends and families! I still remember how excited we were when we first heard from you. At that point, all we knew was that this was a destination wedding in Punta Cana. Now we now what wonderful people you are. Now we know what amazing hearts you have. Now we know that yours will be a wedding we will never forget.

Friends, family, and well wishers: view more of Ashlena and Weston's wedding day images and sign their guestbook.
