Hi there! We're Luke and Cat, and we're so happy you're here. We hope you'll stay a while! We’re a husband and wife wedding photographer team based in Houston, Texas. Ranchers-turned-photographers, our world looks like this: a Craftsman-style farmhouse; our newborn, Knox, in our arms; coffee in the kitchen; Edison lights on the back porch; and a pair of English bulldogs at the foot of our bed. Emily and Justin :: St. Louis Wedding Photographer

May 7, 2013 / Weddings
Emily and Justin were the duo that comprised our very first Illinois wedding! This statement became the grounds for a long running joke between us and Emily and Justin, when we would repeatedly refer to them as 'our favorite Illinois bride and groom ever!"

When we left Texas, the weather here was warm and sunny. Little did we know (or prepare for) that we were headed towards a giant snowstorm! I might have started to panic a little on the morning of their wedding that we were going to end up being 'snowed in' and have to stay in Illinois a few extra days. Luckily - we were so thankful that the snow held off until the day after their wedding. But it didn't stop me from watching the weather afterwards to see that the town was covered in a blanket of snow just 12 hours after Emily and Justin made their honeymoon escape.

Speaking of Emily and Justin, they had a perfect wedding day! We are so honored that these two decided to bring us to Illinois to photograph their wedding!

Do you think these girls like to laugh?

Justin was calm, cool, and collected on his wedding day. We had lots of laughs with this guy, too.

One thing that was clear to us at this wedding is that family is important to these two. Emily and Justin's families flowed seamlessly together. This wedding truly was a perfect example of the joining of two families. Here, Justin's mom excitedly hugs the bride-to-be.

After the wedding, we got to spend some time with these two walking around the reception venue, which was a college campus.

Favorite!

Yes that IS a cow being used as a table number marker! For Emily and Justin, (and their entire bridal party) showing cattle is a big part of their life. What an awesome way to incorporate something personal into their day.

After dinner and special dances, the party got started... and these guys knew how to bust a move!

Emily and Justin (and your families) - thank you so much for having us! We had an incredible day with you all! Can't wait to keep up with your marriage and the exciting things happening in your life!

Friends and family, be sure to check out their entire gallery and sign their virtual guestbook.

Megan and James :: Briscoe Manor Wedding Photographer

Apr 9, 2013 / Weddings
Megan and James were married at the beautiful Houston wedding venue, Briscoe Manor. As you may know, this is where Luke and I were married ourselves. It has been so much fun to watch Briscoe Manor continually evolve and up the ante of their venue. They are constantly making small improvements, changes, and pushing the envelope and I truly believe this is one of the best wedding venues in Houston.

Briscoe was *the* perfect backdrop for Megan and James' wedding day. This couple had so many incredible ideas and they really made this wedding their own. I mean, how creative is this hay bale with their initial on it in roses?

Megan and her mother are two beautiful ladies!

Reading a sweet note from her husband-to-be.

Since Megan and James chose to do a first look, that meant we were able to get plenty of portraits of them, even though they were married right at dark. These photos are ones that will grace the walls of their home and fill their album.

A few last minute iPhone pictures before heading down the aisle. These ended up on Instagram, I'm sure, as Megan and James had their own Instagram hashtag for the big day.

Guests were invited to forgo a traditional guestbook and "Wrap Them Up In Love" and sign this guest quilt. What an adorable idea!

Megan and her father shared a special dance... not too many dry eyes in the house.

Since Megan and James are both Aggies (as are we), of course there was some sawing during the Aggie War Hymn. Gig 'em!

Always full of fresh ideas, Megan and James chose to have their guests toss little poms at them as they left. Such a fun, neat idea!

Megan and James, you guys have been so much fun to work with and get to know. Thank you for blessing us by allowing us to be there with you on the first day of your marriage!

Friends and family of the bride and groom, feel free to visit their gallery and sign their virtual guestbook to leave them some kind words!

Floral Inspiration :: Pinks

Mar 29, 2013 / Weddings
Floral inspiration this week comes in every little girl's favorite: PINK! This past summer we saw plenty of bouquets with a pink color palette and we fell in love with them!

Flowers featured (left to right) by Cassie Ekdahl (the bride!), Petal Pushers (Austin), and The Senterpiece (Houston).
