Makeup Mondays #5 :: Brighten Your Eyes
Feb 18, 2013 / Makeup Mondays
This week's Makeup Monday is a cheapie! $3.49 to be exact! And one of my favorite makeup tricks!
No matter what shade of eyeshadows I'm wearing, I *always* put a shimmery white eyeshadow on as a finishing touch. My eyeshadow of choice for this is Maybelline Expert Wear eyeshadow single in Vanilla... purchased at the drugstore!

So, as I said, after I've put in my eyeshadow but before I put on my eyeliner, I take a small brush and swipe this on right under the browbone, and also right at the inside corners of my eyes. One key that I can tell you is that you should be sure to use a small brush for this. My favorite is Urban Decay's Good Karma Shadow Brush, as it lets me get fairly precise with sliding this right under my brow bone.
Reasons I love this: First, this instantly brightens up my whole face. Depending on how much time I've got, sometimes I go ahead and keep blending the shimmery white a little further from the inside corner towards the outside. I never go much further than right where the colored part of my eye starts though. The added plus of this is that if you're not a great eyeshadow blender, it gives you a little wiggle room and helps everything look more blended together.
So here's some before/afters! The difference in the two was ONLY 1 swipe of the shimmery white right under my browbone and one swipe right at the inside corners of each eye.

The difference is subtle, but it is something I can't live without!
By the way, the other eyeshadow I'm wearing in this post is Dior 3 Couleurs Glow in Nude Glow. It's my favorite everyday neutral!
