Hi there! We're Luke and Cat, and we're so happy you're here. We hope you'll stay a while! We’re a husband and wife wedding photographer team based in Houston, Texas. Ranchers-turned-photographers, our world looks like this: a Craftsman-style farmhouse; our newborn, Knox, in our arms; coffee in the kitchen; Edison lights on the back porch; and a pair of English bulldogs at the foot of our bed. One of the benefits of living in the middle of nowhere!

Jan 22, 2013 / Our Life

While the big city (Houston) is only an hour or so away, we still live in the country, y'all!

One of the benefits, aside from being able to walk around the yard in a robe with little chances of anyone seeing you, is that we are surrounded by wildlife! The flower beds around our house always attract butterflies and hummingbirds, the birds are tweeting (they did the whole tweet thing before it was so cool!), and everyone once and a while we get to see something like this!

This deer stood in right by the road for a few minutes while we got to appreciate it. Then it went back in to the brush from where it came. It it always a joy to take a little drive around the ranch just to see what we can find. I am pretty sure that El Chupacabra lurks in the shadows or a white walker (Game of Thrones is almost here!), but until they grab us and take us to their lair, we will keep driving around on little nature drives.

Our favorite venues: Briscoe Manor!

Jan 18, 2013 / Weddings
For the next several weeks, we'll be highlighting some of our favorite Texas venues! What better way to start than the wedding venue that we chose when we got married: Briscoe Manor!

Clearly, Luke and I love Briscoe Manor! Aside from the fact that this venue is where our own marriage started, as photographers, we now are able to see what a true treasure this place is.

I could go on and on, but I'm going to narrow it down to our three favorite things about Briscoe Manor.
1) The Driveway Scenery!
As you drive down the black top road to Briscoe, you'll see their own herd of Texas Longhorns! Any Texans dream... even this Aggie has to admire the majesty of one of our states' most recognizable icons!
2) The New Bridal Suite
So this is more of a thing that the ladies will appreciate. Since we got married at Briscoe, they have completely redone their bridal suite quarters. They added on a huge room (with some of the comfiest chairs known to man, by the way) that has plenty of space for even the largest bridesmaid posse. Right outside of the bridal suite is a courtyard area that's a photographers dream for taking photos.
3) The Little Signs Around The Venue
You can see one in the collage above (All Because Two People Fell In Love) and there are many more. I stood and stared at the wall of them (it's right by the bridal suite) while I was waiting on one of our brides to get into her dress. There were many great quotes, including my all time favorite Bible verse, Ruth 1:16, "Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay."
If you aren't already familiar with Briscoe Manor, be sure to check out their website!
