Hi there! We're Luke and Cat, and we're so happy you're here. We hope you'll stay a while! We’re a husband and wife wedding photographer team based in Houston, Texas. Ranchers-turned-photographers, our world looks like this: a Craftsman-style farmhouse; our newborn, Knox, in our arms; coffee in the kitchen; Edison lights on the back porch; and a pair of English bulldogs at the foot of our bed. A Place To Call Home

Aug 28, 2013 / Our Life
Hard to say what makes a house a home, but somehow over the past 8 years of living in our house, I'm finally certain that this little white farmhouse definitely feels like home to me.

We're decorating addicts, and one of our favorite things to do around our house is move things around and make things seem 'new' again. One of our favorite areas in our house recently is our buffet bookcase that sits in our dining room. This bookcase is full of things we love!

The red books are antique 'herd-books' for the American Shorthorn Association. Shorthorns are a breed of cattle, but more importantly to us, it was at a Shorthorn show that Luke and I first met over 10 years ago.

In the antique frame is a picture my great grandmother Catherine Sloan, who I was named after. When my great uncle Knox passed away, he left me this framed photo of her which means the world to me!

A few months ago my grandparents gave me this old bible that they discovered in their bookshelf that also belonged to her. I loved the bible because it was old and worn and had my name on it, but even more fun was the fact that it was full of old papers.

Like this old telegram sent to my grandfather on his birthday from his father.

And this invitation to a fellowship dinner that took place March 10, 1953.

Finally, we have this framed photo of my grandmother Mollie in her rodeo queen days, alongside my Aunt Mae's antique clock. I never met Aunt Mae, but she was a big fan of antiques and we also have a trunk and a dresser in our home from her collection. Back to my grandmother, she was cute then and is still cute now! I want to be her when I grow up!
