Hi there! We're Luke and Cat, and we're so happy you're here. We hope you'll stay a while! We’re a husband and wife wedding photographer team based in Houston, Texas. Ranchers-turned-photographers, our world looks like this: a Craftsman-style farmhouse; our newborn, Knox, in our arms; coffee in the kitchen; Edison lights on the back porch; and a pair of English bulldogs at the foot of our bed. Our New Obsession!

Jul 31, 2012 / Our Life

I came across the game in an Economics class when one of my friends was playing it on his laptop during the lecture. The "mute" button may have been pushed and loud Bloon pooping noises filled the room, but that is another story :)

Cat and I have been playing this game for the past week solid! I may sneak in when I am "making sure all the doors are locked" before bed and play a round or two. We have tried different strategies and theories, and when we can't pop all the balloons before they reach the end, it is total devastation 'round these parts!

The concept of Bloons is simple. You place different balloon popping machines or monkeys around the track and hope they can pop all of the balloons before they reach the end. Sounds simple, but when a balloon filled MOAB Blimp comes around the track, things get a little hairy.

This is what the beginning of the level looks like.

Things are pretty calm.

Then all hell breaks loose!

I have to admit, I do get a sick thrill when I defeat a level! I am currently on lever 104, the farthest I have ever gotten, and only play one level per day. I don't want the fun to run out and have to start back at the beginning!

If you want to play Bloons for yourself, click here, and get started! I recommend the Tack Shooter in a rounder corner to start out with, then a few Super Monkeys!

Wedding Day Surprise

Jul 27, 2012 / Weddings

This is one of those moments that Cat and I will never forget. We feel so blessed and honored that couples ask us to be a part of such a special time in their lives.

We get to spend almost the entire day with our couples and get to see all of the special little in-between moments that happen through out the day. We watch as glances are exchanged between the bride and her dad, who is undoubtedly trying to hold back emotion that his little girl is finally grown up, as the groomsmen celebrate with their friend and tell stories that maybe shouldn't be told (like that one time in New Orleans!) and experience the excitement in the air as two families join together. We also get to see all the thoughtful gifts that brides give to bridesmaids, or children give to parents, etc., but Brittany and Blair take the cake for BIG TIME presents!

It all started when we met up with Brittany and Blair on the morning on their wedding day. The girls were getting ready, the guys were counting down the minutes until they could loosen their ties, pretty normal wedding day festivities. Then Blair pulled me aside and what he told me made me excited, nervous, and even jealous all at the same time!

Blair said: "Hey Luke, I got Brittany a very special gift that she will see right after the ceremony and if you could please try to get a picture of her when she sees it, I would appreciate it."

I said, "No problemo, what did you get her?" I know that Blair is absolutely crazy over his now wife, so I was thinking it would be a very special piece of jewelry or a set of pictures from their dating days. What he said next, made my jaw drop all the way to the ground.

Blair said: "I got her a new truck!"

In that moment, I wanted to marry Blair myself, I was jealous that I didn't get Cat a new truck for her wedding day gift, and I wasn't sure that I would be able to keep a secret when I saw Brittany. I think that I may have high-fived Blair and quickly got back to work.

Right before the ceremony, the bridesmaids gave Brittany a box that she was told to open.

It was one box inside of another, similar to a set of Russian dolls, but when she got to the last layer, she saw the keys! As you can see, she was excited!
I asked Brittany if she wanted me to hold the keys until after the ceremony since no one else had pockets or a purse, but she didn't want to let go of them! She put them right on top of her brooch bouquet so she could show Blair as soon as she walked down the aisle.

As soon as they kissed, I ran from the back of the church to the parking lot to wait on Brittany's exit. At this point all she knew was she had a new set of keys, but had no clue as to what!

This is what she saw!

Everyone was so excited, especially Brittany, and this is definitely going on the top 10 list for us! I think that I may go buy a new truck for Cat now! I think that Walmart has some pretty sweet deals on HotWheels :)
