Hi there! We're Luke and Cat, and we're so happy you're here. We hope you'll stay a while! We’re a husband and wife wedding photographer team based in Houston, Texas. Ranchers-turned-photographers, our world looks like this: a Craftsman-style farmhouse; our newborn, Knox, in our arms; coffee in the kitchen; Edison lights on the back porch; and a pair of English bulldogs at the foot of our bed. Lauren and Braden's Wedding

May 31, 2012 / Weddings

Wow! Where do we even begin with this amazing couple! Lauren and Braden are two of the nicest, most down-to-earth, and friendly couples we've ever had the joy of working with. They had a beautiful wedding day from start to finish!

Just look how happy Lauren was!

These flowers were gorgeous!

I've said it before and I'll say it again... I'm a sucker for bridesmaid dresses with pockets.

Lauren's sister Joan gave the official 'best prayer ever' before they all walked down the aisle. Not a dry eye in the room!

Braden = beaming!

Lots of tears watching the father/daughter dance!

This is where the night went from already amazing to spectacular for us! Lauren and Braden let us have them outside right at sunset for a little portrait session! The light was some of the prettiest I've seen, and they were working it!

Favorite! Movie stars!

Of course, there was laughing!

Back to the reception we went and the dancing got serious!

Braden even performed a few special dance moves for his mom!

Lauren and Braden, we've had an incredible time with you guys and your wonderful families! We're truly sad that your wedding has came and went already! Can we do this with you every year? Seriously guys, we think you're an amazing couple and wish you nothing but a perfect 'happily ever after.' Thank you for letting us be there for your exquisite event!

Who Loves Calligraphy!

May 29, 2012 / Our Life

This guy does! I (Luke) have an obsession with calligraphy and the extreme talent of the skilled calligraphers out there. I have spent hours on YouTube watching videos that make this art look effortless.

When we found our wedding invitation calligrapher, Jennifer Taylor, we were SO happy! We went to her house, looked over all of her jaw-dropping samples and in the end she created a style that was completely custom to us and matched our invitations to a tee! When we went to pick up our invitations I even asked Jennifer if she could write my name in calligraphy. She did and did it with ease. The only thing is that she wrote my name as Lucas Benjamin Williams! Williams was Cat's maiden name, so we got a good laugh out of that :)

After going through the process of selecting our wedding invitations calligraphy, we started to follow other calligraphers and I may have tried to do a little of it myself too. If anyone knows of a calligraphy school, let me know. I have read books, but I think that one-on-one instruction would be best! I have broken too many nibs and turned my fingers black too many times!

We just discovered a Los Angeles calligrapher, Molly Jacques, and spent a good hour yesterday looking at her amazing work! Who wishes this was their wedding invitation?

These little handwritten details are what can push your wedding over the top!

Also, if you are following along with our home renovations, you know that we are adding some French Doors where our bay windows used to be and building a deck off one side of our house. Then we are putting up a fence and making a side yard! We are so pumped about this!

(I should use the term "we" loosely because neither Cat nor I are doing any of the work, we just provide moral support for the guys taking an entire wall out of our house!)

Cat and I are already planning what we want out new space to look like and we fell in love with this "calligraphied" chalkboard we found!

There is still a lot to be done with the construction, but we will keep you updated as we progress through this excitement!

These Make Us Laugh!

May 25, 2012 / Our Life

I am pretty sure that I (Luke) have some undiagnosed version of A.D.D. When I talked about this with my mother she quickly, and somewhat sharply, said "Oh, no you don't!"

The way that I came to this conclusion is that I get in the office in the morning, look at my to-do list, and think "To-Do List, prepare to get dominated!" However, the next thing I notice, it is noon, I am hungry, and I have been YouTubing it, or looking at those funny animated cartoons on various websites. My to-do list then spouts off some words like "What was that you were saying BIG TALKER!" and I go find some bread to eat.

So I thought that I would bring you along my A.D.D. roller coaster that is my everyday life and hopefully you can get a few big belly laughs out of this :)
Really, who hasn't done this!

Hands up if you have about drown in a bathtub!

While this isn't my family, I do have a feeling that there is a picture pretty similar to this in a shoebox in my parents attic.

This was the caption that went along with the photo:
"This was my Christening, June 1971. I'm the baby obviously, my Godmother is holding me, my parents are next to her. Their hideous outfits aren't the "awkward" part of this photo. In the background, my grandmother is pulling my sister's hair while my brother is recovering from a smack he got in the face! All of this right on the front steps of a church."

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
