Frosting up the nose!
May 16, 2012 / Our Life
Cat and I have been trying to become adults and transition in to a more adult lifestyle. This includes trying to keep caught up with laundry, having at leasts two clean forks at any given time, and going to the dentist on a regular basis.
When I (Luke) was growing up, the dentist was just a part of life. Every six months I would go get my teeth cleaned and I would never have any cavities! Not one! Once I was out on my own, I decided that going to the dentist was overrated, and went on a much more sporadic schedule. After I met Cat and we started going steady, my trips to the dentist were fewer and father between. But now that we are "trying" to become adults, we made the decision to go to the dentist after not going for a few years. We both wanted to same technician, since we were already friends with here from outside of the dentist office, so I went first. I had two cavities and was devastated! The only good news was that since they were so small, they didn't have to numb me to fix them.
Cat had a little different prognosis after her cleaning. She had a few more cavities and also needed a root canal and a crown! We were in an all-around foul mood after we left the dentist. Cat even said that "if we hadn't of gone, we would not have known anything was wrong!" We were mad and relieved all at the same time.
Today marked the conclusion of all dental work and we are back on the up-and-up! Our teeth aren't going to fall out of our head and we already made our next cleaning appointment for 6 months from now! This "being an adult" thing isn't so bad :)
To celebrate our healthy mouth status, we decided to grab a few cupcakes on our way out of town.

I didn't know that the icing on these bad boys would be a mile high and make them nearly inedible. However, since I am not one to give up on a challenge too easily, I went for it. I opened my mouth as big as I could and tried to maneuver the cupcake in to my pie hole!
Well the tower of icing atop the moist cake didn't want to corporate and navigated through my sinuses. I had sprinkles and icing in places that sprinkles and icing shouldn't ever be!
I quickly figured out that I needed to turn the confectionary sideways and take two bites. I think that a clean bill of dental health and some in-depth cupcake eating problem solving definitely means that adulthood is getting closer!
